No matter who you are, what you look like, how much money you have, or what grades you get, there is a place for you at mesa. Mesa high may struggle with demographics, but the students are better for it. My first week at school, the principal stopped me on my way to class, simply to learn my name and welcome me to the campus. I could hear it in his voice; he cared about me. It is his stewardship over the school that influence the other faculty members to act in the same hospitable manner. I made It a priority to get to know the AP teachers I knew that I would have and they were amazing. It may not be the most updated campus, but the tradition of excellence that it carries is extremely noticeable. I'm also in orchestra and the teacher helped us get a superior with distinction in ABODA festivals so its no doubt we have a great music program. Overall an A+. My kids can be themselves and want to succeed, without pressure to try to live up to the 'mall scene.' They don't feel like outcasts if they don't have a ton of money.
