Independence High School Reviews

As a class of 2006 graduate I believe that the extracurricular activities are excellent. The teachers are very committed to student success and are willing to work with students who are struggling. The accelerated and AP programs are awesome and I found them to be very rewarding and intellectually stimulating. While I do believe that safety is an issue to be addressed the school as a whole is awesome.

It is a great school that is fun for everyone.

It is a great school that is fun for everyone there.

I've attended Independence for 3 years now and loved everyday of it. everybody pretty much gets along, but still have their moments at times. This school is a great place to be and i recomend it to all who wanna have a good time and get out of there shell.

I feel this school has become an academic haven, surrounded by other poorly performing schools. The administration has shown great leadership and high expectations for achievement. The teachers are trained and supported in this same approach: ALL KIDS CAN AND SHOULD LEARN AND THIS SCHOOL MAKES THE DIFFERENCE. Thank you, Independence High School!

My daughter has really enjoyed her freshman year at Independence. Her teacher's have really been helpful and encourage communication with parents. A big thank you to the teachers at Independence.

my kids are in choir, one is in vocal. They love it! Independence has alot of programs for academics, music, sports and extracurricular. Enjoy!

Students have a lot of time excel has great teachers. Students have explore wich gives a nice break during school. I recomend this to any one!

I think this is a great school for all children. The teachers here work one-on-one with students and spend a lot of time helping out after school. My daughter says she has met many new and exciting people this year. These are some reasons why I think independence high school is a great school.

Ihs is a great school. Though we disagree with the local grade/middle school grading systems. We came into this high school from an outside school and fell right into place and having the honors classes is great. Not all school offer this. The teachers we have had the past year and this year seem to care about the children and give them individual time if needed. I would highly recommend this high school to anyone in the area. Keep up th egreat work teachers, staff and all employees of the ihs group!

This school provides aquality academic enviroment in which the students readily learn the taught material.

Great school and caring staff. This school offers webgrades which allows you to keep track of your childs grades.

It has a lot of opportunities for the students to get involve in an extra activity afterschool.

Overall this school is decent. Around middle class in standards. Aims scores were very low. With more money and future development this school is on its way to becoming great. Many new buildings and other old ones are being fixed are built from scratch. The unique part of this school is that it is half underground and half above ground. Most of the students have 5 or more classes that require them to be downstairs. They have carperted areas, such as green, red, and blue along with numbers to make the classes a little easier to find. I recommend this school to people deciding to move to this area only.

Independe High school has taken a lot of steps to improve their academic achiecements. With the new new freshman Excel, Academic Strategies, and other programs that have been added, the amount of effort that has been put to make this school a better high school has been noticeable. Independence has been considered one of the best high schools in the district, and I am sure it will remain this way.

I was a former student there and I graduated in 2001. I loved this school. The teachers gave their full attention to the student's needs and provided help outside of class on a regular basis. The topics were taught with the utmost confidence and the teachers challenged the students to think critically. The administration was wonderful and had the student's progress as their top priority. I am graduating from Northern Arizona University in the fall and I have the staff at IHS to thank.

I think IHS is a great school. They have a great cirriculum for math and science and believe that students there excell anyway they want to all thanks to the standards set by the students themselves keep it up patriots!

I think IHS is a great high school. If the parents would get involved and help out and know what their children are doing it would be even better. I have kids there and many friends and familys have theirs there. I wouldnt want them in any other high school. Great job IHS. Keep up the great work!

My Daughter went to Glendale High school and Independence is a much better school. The principal addressed every issue I had unlike Glendale. Great School

Indpendence is a pointless waste of time for students. They are constantly bothered by there students. Students fight constantly on campus, or accross the street from the campus.

This school is an unsafe institution where students are subjected to harsh dicipline and unfair treatment. The teachers are inexperienced and uncareing in the attempt to educate our students. Overall the school ,in my opinion, deserves to be shut down and turned into a prison, as it would be more fitting because we already have the guards(teachers).

Students are disciplined for meaningless things. They also do not give their students any time to complete their assignments. My son was given a report and told it was due the next day. I do not recommend this school to anyone!

It is a great school that is fun for everyone there.

Great School. Good afterschool programs. My daughter did very well.

School does not provide enough security for students to be safe on campus.

They DO NOT have AP physics.
