JWJ Academy - Main Reviews

The school is currently undergoing a Metamorphisis plan to revamp its' overall demeanor and it is all good. I met and know one of their new teachers Mrs. Christian and I know her teaching style, it works with young people, she is a very successful teacher. She cares about students and trains them to survive in their adult lives. I am so excited that she is there, the school is on a turn around and I know they will rise to the top overnight.

My daughter attended for about 1 1/2 months (not consecutive days) and I withdrew her because I found that there was favoritism, overlooking of particular students fighting/bullying and smoking marijuana on campus, no supervision whatsoever. I would stop by and the main teacher would be out of the classroom, reading the newspaper or on the computer. When I received my daughter's transcripts, I was alarmed and surprised that she had received full credit for her grade level. Her grades in band, algebra 1-2, P.E., Spanish and Biology were exemplary...The only problem there is she took none of those classes and had none of the teachers listed. The director even spelled 'transcript' incorrectly. I believe the school falsified grades and attendance to justify its continued existence. I do not know if it received Federal monies or what, but on paper it makes itself look like a wonderful school, when in essence, it is a farce. The best thing I ever did was remove my child from that 'front' of a school. Beware!

My son currently attends JWJ academy. He has had problems with other children bullying him. I have mentioned it to the teachers, but nothing has happened.
