Press Coffee: more than just java
Published: Jun 7, 2009
Press Coffee, a locally owned coffee and wine bar that opened at CityNorth in 2008, has gained a loyal following of java, food and wine lovers — as well as customers who appreciate the exciting interactive events this interesting establishment offers.
Some of the Press Coffee events include wine tasting; coffee cuppings; doggie dine-outs; live music; and barista throw-downs. These live and interactive activities ensure that patrons are never bored.
During barista throw-downs, staff baristas compete to see who in the house can make the best tasting drinks. Patrons are invited to participate and enjoy the entertainment and sip on free lattes after the competition.
The Press Coffee drink menu includes a variety of American and European-style coffees and espressos; frozen coffee drinks; teas; and fruit smoothies. A large selection of domestic and imported wines and beers are available, too.
Want to grab a bite to eat? Try one of the menu's many offerings. If you're visiting in the morning, try a breakfast sandwich with your choice of ham, sausage, or bacon. Also, a variety of muffins, pastries, and fresh fruits are available. ($2-$5)
Press Coffee offers a variety of panini sandwiches for lunch. The "Cactus club" is a favorite: prepared with turkey, avocado, bacon, spring greens, tomato and hummus on rosemary flatbread. Other panini choices include the "Press Pazzini", hot Press tuna and "Valley Veggie". ($5) Soups and salads are also available.
Press Coffee's dessert menu features sinfully delightful treats. From the New York cheesecake to the chocolate spoon cake to the lemon berry mascarpone, Press Coffee has something that will tickle even the most demanding sweet tooth.
Weeknights from 4 - 7 p.m., is happy hour. Select wines are just $5 a glass and many beers just $2-$3.
