King's Fish House: seafood from around the world

Published: Apr 15, 2009

Far from the Pacific Ocean — or much water at all — King's Fish House in Tempe serves up everything seafood. Whether it's Dungeness crab, Canadian oysters, Gulf shrimp, Ecuadorian Mahi Mahi or even Southwest Australian lobster tails, you can find it on the menu.

King's Fish House is conveniently located at the Tempe Marketplace. After a fun-filled day of shopping or catching a flick, you can stop by and enjoy a delicious seafood dining experience. There's plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, along with a full bar.

Start your meal off with one of their many appetizers, including ceviche, jumbo lump crab, lobster crunch roll, King's crab cakes, clams, mussels, oysters and much more. Or start things off with a fresh salad: The Danish Walnut Salad is made with Danish bleu cheese and candied walnuts served on a bed of spring greens.

Feel like starting things off with some warm chowder? The King's spicy seafood chowder will knock your socks off! They also serve New England clam chowder and white bean with smoked salmon.

King's Fish House also serves up a wide variety of fresh sushi platters — yellowtail, eel, albacore, salmon, tuna and shrimp — and rolls, including California, spicy tuna, spider, rainbow, caterpillar and much more. Click here for King's complete sushi menu.

Planning a dinner for two? Try sharing a combo meal. The Hot Seafood Combo for two comes with fried jumbo shrimp, crab cakes, calamari and popcorn shrimp ($24). Not in the mood for  fried? Try the Cold Seafood Combo, which comes with fresh-shucked clams, oysters, Gulf shrimp and Dungeness crab ($25).

All prices shown here  are rounded.

King's Fish House boats a huge selection of fresh fish and oysters from all over the world, sure to satisfy all of your exotic cravings. You can try the Wild British Columbia Red Rockfish ($16), the Mississippi Catfish ($16), Costa Rican Tilapia ($17) and Ecuadorian Mahi Mahi ($20).

Let's not forget about the crab and lobster! At King's you can get fresh Alaskan King crab ($43), live wild Maine lobster ($3.50 and up) and even Southwest Australian lobster tails ($45).

You can also get pasta dishes, and if you're not in the fishiest mood, try the chicken parmigiana ($17), top sirloin ($20) or New York strip ($30).

King's Fish House offers a variety of side kickers to accompany any meal, a kids' menu, and an extensive menu of cocktails, wine and beer. King's offers many dessert options, as well, including New York cheesecake, old-fashioned chocolate cake, fruit crisp and crème brûlée.

The King family has been in the restaurant business for three generations, so you could say that the love for fresh fish runs through their veins.

When Sam and Jeff King decided to carry on the family tradition they traveled around the United States, exploring seafood restaurants. Eventually, the two brothers created the concept for King's Fish House, where their motto is: "Welcome to the house that seafood built." You can read about their odyssey here.
