Joe's Real BBQOpen since 1998, Joe’s Real BBQ is a family owned and operated restaurant serving up plate after plate of finger lickin’ good BBQ to the hungry folks of Gilbert. The smokehouse smell fills the air for miles around this 1940’s décor styled restaurant. A restored 1948 John Deere tractor and mural commemorating the agricultural heritage of the Gilbert area pay homage to Arizona’s history while celebrating the traditions of a BBQ style eatery. Joe’s uses pecan wood to smoke the meat because it adds flavor and is a renewable, Arizona grown resource. Joe’s pork ribs are a local favorite. Starting with St. Louis style pork spareribs then dredged in homemade run and slow-smoked the final product is a tender, meaty and flavorful slab that is sure to satisfy any BBQ fan. The pork ribs are sold in three, six or twelve ribs and come with bread and two sides ($5-$19). Another Joe's favorite is the Joe's Jumbo Baker--a one pound baked potato loaded with butter, sour cream, cheese, chives and topped with pulled pork ($5-$8). Other smoked meats at Joe’s include beef brisket, chopped brisket, pulled pork, ham, hot links, chicken and turkey. Of course, no BBQ would be complete without all of the necessary fixings. Joes’ offers patrons homemade corn bread, potato salad, coleslaw, corn, BBQ pit beans, mac n’ cheese, salad and apple sauce ($2). Then, for desert try the apple crisp, pecan brownie, lemon cake, cookies or root beer float ($3). With all that BBQ goodness it’s no wonder patrons flock to get a plate of Joe’s Real BBQ every day. Joe’s also specializes in catering. Visit the Joe’s Real BBQ website to get a catering quote.
