Barrio Cantina & Grill: Mexican inspired cuisine fused with a contemporary flare.

Jul 12, 2009

Open since early 2009, Barrio Cantina & Grill offers traditional Mexican inspired cuisine fused with a contemporary flare. Seasonal dishes served in eye catching visual presentations offer patrons a chance to explore Barrio’s culinary interpretations. The restaurant also offers premium flights of the finest tequilas and a large variety of Mexican beer. Barrio has you covered with many dining options day and night including lunch specials, dinner events, Sunday brunch and late night appetizer and drink specials.

The ambiance at Barrio’s features bold yet minimalistic design elements while maintaining a Mexican architectural influence. The restaurant features two distinctive bars, comfortably chic lounge furniture and retractable walls of glass tying the indoor and outdoor seating areas together.

Start things off with one of their many appetizer options including innovative jalapeno bacon wrap hot dog sliders, guacamole, nachos, Ahi tuna tartar and Barrio hot wings ($7-$10). There are several salad and soup options to get things started including a chicken tortilla soup, Caesar salad and a seared Ahi tuna salad ($6-$13).

Taco platters are served with your choice of meat including beef, pork, shrimp, chicken and fish with rice and topped with crema, queso, cabbage and pico de gallo with your choice of refried or black beans ($10-$12).

Other meal options include burritos, enchiladas and quesadillas—all made with your choice of cheese, pork, beef and shrimp. Also, the Cantina burger, grilled chicken and salmon platter, steak, Mahi Mahi and more ($10-$17).

Enjoy one of Barrio’s specialty margaritas with your meal, choose from apple, chili, Italian, strawberry and x-rated—made with Cabo Wabo Blanco, x-rated Fusion and Patron Citronage ($9-$10).

There are also a variety of options for the kiddos including a hot dog, taco, chicken poppers, mac’n cheese, grilled cheese and a bean burrito ($3-$5).

You’ll want to save room for desert; there are a variety of ice cream and cake options ($3-$5).  The house specialty is a blueberry-lime-Habenaro, peanut butter and jelly style desert ($5).

Barrio’s breakfast menu includes chorizo and eggs, breakfast burritos, omelets, huevos rancheros, french toast, pancakes and quesadilla ($8-$12).
