Stax Burger Bistro: mini-burgers from exotic grinds

In Old Town Scottsdale, you’ll find Stax Burger Bistro has made a name for itself with a dynamic blend of casual dining and gourmet mini-burgers. Stax features a large variety of burgers, both humble and exotic — including buffalo, ostrich, wild boar, duck, venison and more.

Needless to say, you'll find all the fixings at Stax, as well. The buffalo burger, For example, is topped with Muenster cheese, an onion ring and peach barbecue sauce.

If you're looking for a more familiar grind, Stax's offers beef, turkey, chicken, lamb, tuna and a veggie burger, prepared with a quinoa-and-black-bean patty topped with guacamole and pico de gallo

Nothing on the menu catches your fancy? You can build your own Stax-style creation. Just choose which grind, cheese, bun, toppings and sauces you want, and they'll hook you up ($4–$9).

The burgers are all three-ounce slider-style patties, so try ordering a few different types and expand your exotic meat experience.

You can add a side of tater tots, onion rings or sweet potato fries (fantastic with a side order of Stax's own honey-mustard sauce). The restaurant also offers a selection of salads, soups, bruschetta, queso and hummus ($3–$6). The Stax house salad comes with cucumbers, tomatoes and your choice of dressing.

Wash down all that yummy burger goodness with a perfectly paired beer. Just ask the service staff and they can recommend something that to complement your meal.

Finally, finish things off with a sweet treat: Try the bread pudding, cheesecake, sundae or float ($5).
