Los SombrerosFor more than 15 years, Los Sombreros has been serving gourmet Mexican food to the hungry residents of Phoenix. Delectable dishes made from old family recipes and fresh ingredients have set Los Sombreros apart from other Mexican restaurants in the area. Los Sombreros is housed in a restored farmhouse that was originally built in 1926. A large outdoor patio is perfect for enjoying warm Arizona evenings along with a tasty entrée or margarita. Indoor seating is also available. In the cocina, talented chefs at Los Sombreros busily prepare hearty appetizers like Queso Fundido, prepared with your choice of crab or shrimp alongside rajas, spinach and chorizo. Other great choices include freshly prepared guacamole, authentic tamales, cheesy quesadillas, crisp tacos, shrimp cocktail, crab and mango salad and more ($7–$10). Dinner choices include a variety of Mexican specialty dishes. The house special, Mole Poblano, is prepared with shredded chicken in a Puebla style mole sauce. Or try the Puerco en Chipotle, made with roasted pork, tomatillo-chipotle sauce and queso Oaxaca: It's muy delicioso! Other dinner options include carnitas, crab enchiladas, chiles rellenos, lamb adobo and much more ($16-$20). All that delicious Mexican food will leave you parched for a fabulous drink. From margaritas to sangria, wine to beer, there are many options to quench your thirst. The house margaritas are a local favorite! Enjoy discounts on drinks during happy hour from 10 to 11 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays and on Tuesdays, Wednesdays andThursdays from 9 to 10 p.m. Dress is casual, and reservations are helpful. - by Jennifer Pruett, Phoenix Reporter for HelloMetro (Click to leave a message) Jennifer PruettA self proclaimed “queen of everything," Jennifer is a writer, planner and passionate lover of making exciting events extra special.
