Enchanted Island: have a magically fun time
Published: Jun 3, 2009
If you're looking for a fun, affordable place to take the whole family this summer, Enchanted Island might have just the right magic. The park, which opened in 1991, offers nine different rides your kids will love. From the Red Barron airplanes to the dragon roller coaster, giggles are plentiful at the park.
While the majority of the rides at Enchanted Island are designed for small children, some require children under 42 inches tall to be accompanied by an adult. A rock-climbing tower and arcade games will help keep the older kids entertained.
A snack bar features classic items like ice cream, corn dogs, burgers and cotton candy.
The park also hosts a variety of holiday events throughout the year. An egg hunt for Easter, pinatas and live music for Cinco de Mayo, Harvest Festival with hay maze in the fall and visits from Santa Claus around Christmastime mean lots of festive fun.
Enchanted Island is located within Encanto Park which offers hundreds of grassy acres of play area as well as a public swimming pool.
Ride tickets are $1 each or 20 for $17, and admission is free. An all-day pass is available for $14 for kids under 54 inches. Older children can play all day for just $8. On Friday nights from 5-9 p.m., discount ride passes to Enchanted Island are $5. Season passes are $60.
Enchanted Island can also host birthday parties and other events. Visit the Enchanted Island website for more information on party packages.
