From West Phoenix: Take I-10 East (downtown) to 202 East (Red Mountain Freeway. Exit at Priest Drive. Go north (left) on Priest, which becomes Galvin Parkway. Turn right at the first light north of Van Buren into the Phoenix Zoo parking lot.

Get in touch with your animal instincts at the Phoenix Zoo.  You can experience the wild kingdom with hands on exhibits, camel rides, Safari cart tours, a petting zoo, paddle boats, and much more.

You can take a self-guided tour as you walk through the zoo paths at your own pace. The zoo is a family friendly place to spend the day with your little ones learning and exploring the park.

While you're at the zoo, you will have a blast visiting the Monkey Village, the Stingray Bay, Desert Savanna, and many other family friendly and interactive exhibits.  You can meet the African lion, Grevy's zebra, reticulated giraffe, Aldabra giant tortoise, Chilean flamingo, cheetah, warthog, and other fascinating creatures.  Click here to learn all about the animals that live at the Phoenix Zoo.

No need to walk the wilds on an empty stomach. There are plenty of  places throughout the zoo to grab a snack such as kettle corn and cotton candy. Ready for a full meal? The Savanna Grill  offers burgers, salads, and sandwiches — or you can visit the Cavern Cafe for pizza, subs and Mexican food. 

Before you leave be sure to stop by the PhxZoo Shop and pick up a souvenir to remember your visit at the zoo.  They sell a large variety of novelty items, books, decorative art, and much more.
