Tempe Center for the Arts: a community arts platform

Feb 21, 2010

Tempe Center for the Arts stages innovative programming that enriches, enlightens, inspires and expands the artistic horizons of the Tempe community through visual and performing arts experiences. This 88,000 square-foot facility features a theater, studio, gallery, banquet/meeting room, donor lounge, an on-site, full-service box office and dedicated catering areas.

TCA offers art and dance classes for aspiring artists of all ages. The TCA staff believes in teaching basic skills in multiple art forms to increasing awareness of arts events and activities in the community. Each class offers opportunities for discovery, exploration and educational enhancement.

At the heart of the TCA is a 600-seat performance theater with four seating levels. Here visitors can enjoy live stage performances by many local favorites including Childsplay, Tempe Little Theatre, the Tempe Symphony Orchestra, the Tempe Community Chorus, Desert Dance, and more.

The Gallery is the main visual arts showcase. This 3,500 square-foot gallery engages visitors with two and three dimensional art including an outdoor sculpture garden. Then, out on the lakeside you’ll find a  3,400 square-foot meeting room which is available to rent for banquets, weddings, receptions, lectures and much more.

Outside of the center is the Art Park—a 17-space with breathtaking views of the adjoining Rio Salado and nearby Papago Mountains. Visitors can enjoy a walk on the lakeside paths that wind through the Rio Salado, enjoy a quiet moment at the Tempe Garden Club Pavilion or be entertained at events at the lakeside amphitheater.

Find TCA on Facebook and follow on Twitter for information on current shows, classes, events and exhibits.
