Rawhide at Wild Horse Pass: Arizona's premier western themed attraction
Published: Oct 3, 2009
The Old West charm and hospitality of Rawhide at Wild Horse Pass will transport you back to a simpler time of fun, food and entertainment. Rawhide is Arizona's largest western-themed attraction. With fun action packed activities including shoot-outs, music, gold panning, desert train, live music, burro riding, and more your Rawhide experience is sure to be a boot stomping good time.
Every Saturday night, visitors can experience a Cowboy Sundown Cookout at the Rawhide Western Town & Steakhouse. Enjoy this chuck-wagon cookout under the stars surrounded by the beauty of the Sonoran desert. Menu includes your choice of mesquite-grilled t-bone steak, BBQ chicken, BBQ New York pork steak or vegetarian dinner with Cowboy beans, baked potato, Old Timer's Bread, warm apple pie and more. A Cowboy Cookout wouldn’t be complete without a mule-drawn hay wagon ride, live country western music, hats and bandanas, Cowboy games, storytelling, line dancing and a marshmallow roast—all included in the experience! Reservations for this event are required, Adult price is $48 and children are $20-ages 4-11.
Attractions at Rawhide include the burro ride—a favorite with the little buckaroos. Then, hold onto your pants for a ride on the widowmaker mechanical bull or take a clackety-clack ride on the desert train. Or test your aim at the shooting gallery. For an action packed thrill, check out the six-gun theater and Rawhide roughriders stunt show and whiteness gunfights, explosions and Cowboy antics.
Rawhide offers visitors an extensive array of shopping options as well. The Silver Spur Western Wear offers boots, jeans, jewelry, belts, hats and other Western style clothing. At the Photo Emporium the whole gang can dress up in 1880’s style costumes and have an old time photo souvenir taken. There is also a blacksmith, general store and candy store.
Visit the website for more information, directions and a calendar of special events and concerts at Rawhide.
