Alltel Ice Den: skate your way to a fun filled day!
The Alltel Ice Den offers 120,000-square-feet of ice skating and entertainment. Open since 1998, the Ice Den has revolutionized the ice skating industry in Arizona and has become a community gathering place for many valley residents. Its open-air design and twin NHL regulation surfaces make it a facility uniquely capable of fulfilling the diverse sports and entertainment needs of Arizona families and businesses.
The Ice Den plays host to NHL hockey team, the Coyotes. In addition to hockey, the Ice Den also provides an ice skating venue for many national and international figure skating events, shows and competitions.
At the Ice Den, it’s not just the professionals that can enjoy all that this cool spot has to offer. There are also a wide variety of recreational opportunities for the whole family. There are public skating sessions daily, beginner and advanced ice skating programs and private skating instruction. Also, there are youth and adult hockey leagues, birthday parties and private ice parties available.
Regular events for kids of all ages are announced on the Ice Den Facebook page and the venue website.
Friday nights from 7:20-9:20 p.m., Teen Request Live (TRL) offers teens of the valley a night to enjoy some icy fun with 2 hours of skating, free skate rental, laser light shows, a live DJ, door prizes and more ($8).
Saturday night from 6:15-8:15 p.m., Radio Disney offers family night with live music, free skate rental, door prizes and more ($7).
Other venue amenities include the Coyotes Ice Sports shop which is a full-service hockey and skating pro shop located at the Ice Den. The shop sells Coyotes apparel, souvenirs and more. There is also a fitness center, bank and Chilly Bean Café within the Ice Den.
So, bundle up and head out to North Scottsdale for a cool way to spend your day!
