Arizona Museum for Youth (AMY)Arizona Museum for Youth: where art, creativity and imagination come to life!Jul 8, 2009For more than 30 years, the Arizona Museum for Youth (AMY) has sought to inspire children of all ages to experience a world of art through creativity and imagination. AMY has been designed to captivate the eye of a child with bright colors and exciting activities. As a partnership between the City of Mesa and the Arizona Museum for Youth Friends, Inc., AMY has earned its place as a leader in children’s museums of Arizona. One of the play spaces at AMY is ArtVille. ArtVille is an aesthetically attractive and engaging environment designed for children under 5 years of age. Children keep busy in a town built to cultivate awareness of color, line, shape and texture. Larger-than-life crayons, paintbrushes and glitter glue emphasize the town philosophy of artistic exploration. There are several rotating exhibits at AMY which allow children the opportunity to learn about and explore a certain topic. Patrons big and small can learn about techniques, processes, and materials used to create art while discovering more about themselves and their world through self-expression, hands-on learning, and participant-centered programs. A great way to get the most out of your AMY experience is through their membership opportunities. With a membership patrons can enjoy free admission, discounts, art exhibitions, participate in hands-on activities and additional guest admission passes. Visit the AMY website for more information on becoming a member. You can even plan your child’s next birthday party at AMY. There are a few packages to choose from and theme choices include pirate, western and fairy tale. Click here for complete information on party options at AMY. While visiting AMY, take advantage of their break area where families can enjoy a quick snack before bolting back out into one of the exciting play areas. - by Jennifer Pruett, Phoenix Reporter for HelloMetro (Click to leave a message) Jennifer PruettA self proclaimed “queen of everything," Jennifer is a writer, planner and passionate lover of making exciting events extra special.
