Wet'n'Wild Phoenix: $30 million water park opens
Published: Jul 2, 2009
Wet'n'Wild Phoenix offers patrons more than 30 action-packed rides and attractions. This new 35-acre, $30 million water park is located at the Adobe Dam Regional Park and is the largest theme park in Arizona.
The park’s largest and most thrilling ride is Maximum Velocity — dubbed the world’s first, gravity-defying, dueling master-blaster water coaster. Maximum Velocity blasts riders uphill on jetted water and drops them 830 feet!
In Monsoon Bay you can surf the waves of summer on tubes or body boards. Then head on over to the Phoenix Flyers, where you can choose from several family friendly group rides full of twists, turns and laughs.
Next, you can challenge your friends to a race! The Desert Racers will take you through enclosed tubs, loops and a downhill speedway.
Take a family rafting ride through Raging River or Mammoth Falls for a river rafting experience. For the younger children in your group, check out Soak’em Sprayground and its interactive water activities, including mushroom water shower, flower cascades and sprayers and more.
Water tubes are provided for all of the rides, but the tube waiting line can be long. Tube rentals are available and highly recommended by the park staff. Single and double rider tubes are $6-$7 with a $1 refund.
Private shaded cabana rentals are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Cabana’s are equipped with ceiling fans, two lounge chairs, a table with two chairs, two rental tubes, cable television and cabana food and beverage services ($85-$100).
Water play can burn a lot of energy; you can refuel your body at the Point Break Café, Bayside Snacks or one of the many food and beverage carts located throughout the park. Food options include pizza, sandwiches, wraps, baked goods, salads, hot dogs, a variety of drinks and other snacks.
Individual daily ticket and season passes are available on the Wet'n'Wild website.
Wet'n'Wild also offers packages for corporate parties, birthdays, family reunions and more. Click here for event planning details and packages.
