Scottsdale Art Walk brings art, music, food to the streets
Published: Jun 13, 2009
Every Thursday night from 7 to 9 p.m., Old Town Scottsdale turns into a festival of art, music and food.
For more than 30 years, the Scottsdale Art Walk has allowed patrons to view art at their own pace, in their own neighborhood, while wandering in and out of many local art venues. The Scottsdale Art Walk takes place every Thursday evening year round except for Thanksgiving Day.
Patrons enjoy the sweet serenade of live music set to the backdrop of desert landscape and serene gardens complete with water fountains, lush foliage and well-maintained courtyards. Horse-drawn carriages and a trolley make their ways up and down the streets of Old Town Scottsdale, taking with them patrons who really want to take in the ambiance of this distinct event.
With more than 20 restaurants in the area, patrons can enjoy everything from filet mignon to cheeseburgers before or after they hit the galleries.
A wide array of artistic styles represented by the many participating galleries means that all tastes will be satisfied. Western traditional, contemporary, Southwest landscape, Native American and Russian Impressionism are just some of the styles featured in the Scottsdale Art Walk.
Galleries like Artspace on Sixth Avenue, Colors on Main Street and Cornelis Hollander Designer Jewelry on North Marshall Way are just some of the galleries that participate in this event. For a complete list, click here.
