About Phoenix

Incorporated in 1881, Phoenix has a population of more than 1.5 million and ranks as the fifth largest cities in the United States. Phoenix offers hundreds of resorts, golf courses, festivals, entertainment and recreational venues. Visitors flock to Phoenix all year to enjoy the life, energy and sunshine in abundance; making the Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport is one of the top ten busiest in the nation averaging nearly 40 million passengers each year.

With a large variety of public arts, cultural events, sports activities and amazing restaurants, this is the desert city that never sleeps. The average temperature is 75 degrees and more than 300 days each year are sun-filled. The weather in Phoenix is beautiful, allowing locals and visitors to enjoy outdoor activities year-round.

Explore the downtown Phoenix area arts and educational centers or visit Roosevelt Row—boasting a large variety of arts studios and free public art events and festivals. The Science Center, located in Heritage Square provides hours of science discovery through hands-on learning. Across the street at the Children’s Museum, tikes explore with all five senses. Or, enjoy a locally celebrated tradition in the downtown area, First Friday Artwalk.  Phoenix is also home to some great professional sports teams including the Arizona Cardinals, Arizona Diamondbacks, the Phoenix Suns, and the Phoenix Coyotes.
